Language

Lumy is available in 13 languages:

Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish — plus System default (follows your Windows language).

To change it:

  1. Open Settings → Language.
  2. Pick a language from the dropdown.
  3. A dialog asks if you want to restart now. Click Yes to apply immediately.

The language change takes effect after a restart. Lumy handles the restart for you — you just click Yes.

Theme

Choose Light, Dark, or Default (which follows your Windows theme). The change applies immediately.

LLM Settings

This is where you connect your AI model. See the full walkthrough on the AI setup page.

Quick reference:

  • Provider — LM Studio and Ollama run on your PC; OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Anthropic run in the cloud.
  • Endpoint — usually filled in automatically when you pick a provider.
  • API Key — only needed for cloud providers.
  • Model — leave empty to use your account's default model, or pick a specific one.
  • Test Connection — always click this after changing settings to make sure Lumy can reach your model.

Updates

  • Check for Updates — clicks to see if a newer version exists, then guides you through downloading and installing it.
  • Lumy also checks automatically from time to time.

Updates never delete your files or history. Your settings, indexes, and history are kept.

  • Home Page — opens the official USRO website.
  • Privacy Statement — opens Lumy's privacy policy.
