Application Cleaner

The Applications Cleaning Options page contains cleaners for supported desktop applications, development tools, multimedia software, games, Windows components, and web browsers. WinSysClean detects installed supported applications and shows only the matching cleaners.

Page layout

  • Cleaning options lists detected cleaners by category. Long names wrap onto multiple lines. Click either a switch or its text to enable or disable it. Point to an option to display its description in a wrapped tooltip. A translated database description is used when available; otherwise WinSysClean uses English.
  • Cleaner summary shows detected and total available cleaners, followed by enabled and disabled counts. In the Freeware edition, Get More App Cleaners appears above these statistics.

Enable Safe and Disable All

Enable Safe enables every detected cleaner marked Safe to Clean, in every category—including Windows and Internet Browsers. Other cleaners remain disabled until you review their descriptions and enable them manually. Disable All turns off every application cleaner. Both actions are also available from the options panel's context menu.

Safe-to-Clean is assigned per cleaner from its actual file and registry operations; it is not inferred only from the application name or category.

A safe cleaner can still remove disposable information you may temporarily want, such as diagnostic logs, crash reports, generated backup or recovery copies, recent-item lists, or resettable preferences. Read the tooltip before enabling an unfamiliar cleaner. Passwords, authentication data, pinned tabs, live bookmarks, saved games, projects, and other irreplaceable user data should not be marked Safe to Clean.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Applications Cleaning Options and wait while installed applications are detected.
  2. Choose Enable Safe, or enable individual switches after reading their descriptions.
  3. Check the enabled and disabled totals in the summary panel.
  4. Start the scan. Items found for enabled cleaners appear in the scan report before cleaning.

WinSysClean repeats application detection when it starts, so newly installed supported applications appear automatically and removed applications disappear.
